Educational information only
SickCat content is for general education. It is not a veterinary diagnosis, treatment plan, prescription, or substitute for an exam by a licensed veterinarian who can evaluate your cat in person.
When to contact a veterinarian
Call a veterinarian or emergency clinic promptly if your cat has trouble breathing, collapses, cannot urinate, may have eaten something toxic, has repeated vomiting, is severely weak, is choking, has seizures, or shows any rapidly worsening symptom.
Use your judgment
Cats often hide illness. If something feels wrong, or if your cat is very young, senior, pregnant, chronically ill, or already under treatment, it is safer to contact a clinic than to wait for online information to fit perfectly.
